As part of second quarter (Jan’12 to Mar’12) activity plan of the MJF (Manusher Jonno Foundation) -funded project, Capacity Enhancement of the Rights of the Small Ethnic Groups and Disadvantaged Communities for Policy Advocacy of Maleya Foundation, a 2-day long workshop on Forest Act 1927 was organized jointly by Maleya Foundation and Movement for the Protection of Forest and Land Rights in CHT at Maleya hall, Rangamati from 10-11 March, 2012.

A full-day long workshop on the draft amendment to the Forest Act, 1927 and the draft of Wildlife (Preservation) Act, 2010, jointly organized by Maleya Foundation, Parbatya Chattagram Forest and Land Rights Protection Movement, and Bangladesh Indigenous Peoples’ Network on Climate Change and Biodiversity (BIPNetCCBD) was held at the seminar room of Anukul Foundation, at Shyamoli, Dhaka on June 11, 2012.

Maleya Foundation in collaboration with Bangladesh Indigenous Peoples’ Network on Climate Change and Biodiversity (BIPNetCCBD), and  Movement for the protection of land and forest in CHT held a press conference on the draft amendment to the Forest Act, 1927 and the draft of Wildlife (Preservation) Act, 2010, at Dhaka press club on June 12, 2012.
